The closet bond a mother can have with her child is by breast feeding. This intimate act will build a kinship between the mother and child that could never be erased. It is a special experience for the mother and a comforting feeling to the child.
The child will receive all the nutrition that the mother has to offer without the process that a formula provides. All parents want their children to grow and be as healthy as they possibly can and if a breast feeding mother can contribute then that is one less worry for a new mother
Parents will also save money by breast feeding. store bought formulas can be quite costly especially if your baby requires a specify type of formula. Anything that can help a parent save money while raising a child should be taken into consideration.
Cons
Leaky breasts. Even if you hear a child that is not your own cry you could still lactate. This could be very inconvenient if you are out in a public place with a wet stain on your new silk blouse from jc penny.
It can hurt breast feeding a baby. The nipples can and will become sore and swollen from your precious little loved one using it as a sippie straw. Also, this may upset your husband when he reaches to give you that hug after a long days work and cant embrace you the way he would like because of the soreness in your breast.
It can be very inconvenient and inappropriate to have to breast feed in public areas. If you can find parents room then that is good but it is not always there.
If you start working you may need to carry around industrial sized equipment such as breast pumps which are not only just expensive but, bulky as well.

The process of pumping milk can take hours for some breast feeding mothers which can be awfully demanding with hungry babies and demanding daily agendas.
Bottle feeding
Pro's
The convenience of being able to provide special formulas for infants with specific needs or allergies. Unfortunately, some infants may need some sort of special formula to help them develop in areas where they may be lacking.
The ease of not having to breast feed in public places. It is sometimes much more convenient to heat a bottle than to breast feed.
Allows the father to be able to share in the joy of feeding their child. Fathers want to be able to bond and share time with their child just as much as mothers do and feeding your child automatically brings you closer to them.
Con's
Bottle feeding is expensive. The cost of buying formula is very costly and it will deplete your cash flow rather quickly while your baby is first starting out. This is because formula will be the child's sole source of food.
Finding the right formula for your baby's need is also an issue that can arise some formulas you child may not like and others may make your child nausea. This is a process of trail and error. The doctor may offer one particular brand but that may not be the best brand for your child's needs.
The shelf life of formula is very low after it has been made so a lot of times you could end up wasting more than your using. This is another issue that could deplete your cash flow quite quickly.
The time it takes to prepare a bottle verses breast feeding makes it less attractive as well. Especially on those cold nights where you just want to stay in bed but, the baby is crying and the bottle needs to be made.
Overall, breast feeding is the healthiest choice for your child but may not exactly be the most convenient. Considering the early stages of an infants life are spent drinking formula or breast milk it would be wisest to choose the method that will be the least costly and more healthy for the infant. Having said that, it is important to know the pro's and cons of anything that you may choose to do in regards to feeding your infant. Whatever choice you choose make sure that it is in the best interest of the child and not yourself.
