Pros and Cons of Day Care
Making the choice to put your child in a day care can be a very stressful event. In any area you could find a plethora of options and choices to help guide you to the best day care to fit your needs. Choosing a daycare is something that no parent will take lightly furthermore, there are many pros and cons to selecting the correct day care for your child. Factoring in the development of your child, safety, and cost the parent is actually making more of an investment than simply looking for someone to watch their child from 9am to 5pm.
Pros
· Day care is imperative in today's society. The ruthless economy demands a two person income for a large majority of families. Parents have little time to spare and every penny earned is important. Day care also allows a single parent home to provide for their children instead of, relying on the state to support them.
· Some Day care is very reasonably priced for lower income families who might not be able to afford the cost of a full time day care program. Single parent and two parent homes can benefit from this service.
· Day cares help to develop your child's social skills. While attending a day care the child will have the opportunity to interact and socialize with other children in their age range. This can be very beneficial to parents with one child and busy schedules. Interaction with peers will help to develop their speech and communication as well as, how to deal with people
· Some day cares even provide pre-school education to help the child be more prepared for kindergarten. This is essential learning such as; name writing, recognizing and identifying colors, shapes letters and numbers, and, preparing them for scheduled days with routine and structure similar to that of a school system.
· In some instances, the day care provides transportation to the children which gives them a sense of independence and can also be used to help aid their transition from home to a school setting
· It is also important to begin to wean the child from the parent so they will be able to develop and grow in society. This process is more of a subtlety than an obvious result but necessary just the same.

· There are some that abuse the system and receive free day care for the child meanwhile, they sit at home. This makes it harder to get a child placed in day care for the parents whom actually require day care.
· Day care is costly for a household whose income may seem higher than others. This cost may also be likely to the parents who receive day care for free. However, it is recognizable that some parents really don't have the means to pay for day care and are attempting to be productive in society but, it is overwhelmingly obvious that there are still some that abuse the system.
· There is also that possibility of germs and viruses that could be passed on to the child from day care. Lice, bed bugs from unsanitized mats, cold/flu, and roaches. Sadly, you can't determine another child's living conditions and it is not their fault but, the possibility is still probable.
· Furthermore, finding a day care you can trust. The parent has to build relationships not just with an individual but with an entire staff of people whom all could potentially be in contact with their child. Basically, choosing a day care is pulling from a grab bag of strangers.
· In all things there is an element of risk. Providing day care for your child is no exception to that. Overall, you should choose carefully and wisely. Asking questions and getting definite answers is going to be the best way to find out which day care is going to be best for your child. There is no such thing as a dumb question when it comes to the safety and development of you offspring.
