"You are my Sunshine"
This gender neutral themed baby shower is quite adorable. The shower theme title "You are my Sunshine" encompasses many different colors that remain neutral. If you do not know the sex of your child or are throwing a baby naming party this is a great theme to throw off your guest. This shower makes use of many neutral tones. The use of black, white, yellow, orange, brown, and green are prevalent in the room. I think that the yellow is the most standout color presented.
There are yellow streamers on the background piece behind the dessert table. The banners around the black and white zig zag pattern on the backboard are also done in yellow. There is also an adorable mirror displaying the sun on the same back drop. Another adorable display of the color is the little edible flowers, with the pearl centers, placed on white truffles. Another fun element I noticed was the tiny chalkboard that asks "Thirsty?", that marks the area designated for the drinks.
The cake is just absolutely stunning. It is a one tier cake created by Bake It. At the bottom of the cake is a yellow ribbon circling around the cake in yellow. The rest of the cake is covered by white fondant and displays fondant dots in white rows about the cake. On top of the cake lays edible ivory flowers in a tiny bunch. The use of the fresh berries on the dessert table offers a freshness to the room, as does the greenery. The salads with the fresh berries and nuts, and the greenery add to the neutral feel of the space and offsets all the yellow in the room. The cute sunshine onsies and the cute ABC blocks make this party fit for the celebration of bringing a new baby into the world.
